Malcolm Chesney Shurtleff was born in 1894. In 1920 he received his A.B. majoring in history at Dakota Wesleyan University. Mr. Shurtleff engaged in some graduate work at Brown University. In 1922 he received his M.A. in history from the University of Minnisota. He taught and served as Director at Callo High School in Callo, Peru.
